Now that you’ve read Katie’s account of our Helio flight to Bagabag, here are some photos. My experience was completely different from hers – of pure joy & delight at finally being back in a small plane like we used to fly to our village in. It brought back many fun memories.

Helio
The amazing helio courier plane, which can take off & land on a very short airstrip, and fly as slow as 30mph.
Daniel in helio
Daniel gets to sit up front with headphones & a mic so he can talk to the pilot.

Katie in helio
Katie in the back, where I used to always sit when I was a kid. By this point she is enjoying the flight a lot.

The many rice paddies.

This reminds me of JAARS day at JAARS in North Carolina where Wycliffe does a demonstration of what the helios can do–take-off and landing withing 3 plane lengths! Years later, I got to ride in one around Nasuli.

Looks like you guys are having fun! Well, Daniel anyway… (just kidding, Katie)

    Hi there!
My boyfriend and I are planning to go to Banaue and we are considering flying to Bagabag then to Banaue. Problem is i dont want to take the 10hr bus trip.So my question is, apart from the small palne you took, are there any bigger planes flying to bagabag? SEAIR has temporarily supended their flights there. and if there’s none, then who do i contact to charter the plane you took?

    Hoping for your prompt reply
